Introducing Debra Cerasa: MS Australia CEO, passionate advocate and blogger

Hi there! Let me introduce myself. I’m Debra and I am the new CEO of MS Australia.

As Christmas and New Year begin to feel more distant, we get well underway with new projects and opportunities for MS Australia to ensure we are advocating for the needs of people affected by MS in Australia. This blog is just one of them.

Through this blog, I want to share updates on MS Australia advocacy activities, news from the MS community, opinions, ideas and resources. And I want to hear from you.

There are so many online opportunities to connect with the MS community. MS Australia has a Facebook page and Twitter account, and I have my own Twitter account to share information and connect with others.

It is great to see different ways these sites can be used as tools for collaboration and advocacy.

This week we are asking for your feedback in relation to the recent National Disability Insurance Scheme legislation. The information contributed through the survey and forums will help us shape our response to this legislation. It will also help us determine where we can try to fill gaps in the information which is available about the NDIS.

This week I have been in the ACT, meeting some of the fantastic people who work, volunteer and advocate for MS Australia-ACT/NSW/VIC. I look forward to sharing more stories from my trip over the next few days.

Meeting with staff, volunteers and advocates in ACT. Stay tuned for more news from this trip!

Until then I want to ask about you – how do you stay “connected” online?

All the best,

Debra
